Best time to go for Chimpanzee tracking
The optimal period for chimp trekking spans from October to January, characterized by dry trails, shorter grass, and ripe fruits enhancing the overall experience. However, during these months, chimpanzees might migrate deeper into the forest due to limited food and water, potentially prolonging the duration needed to spot them.
Conversely, June and July present heightened demand for accommodation and permits owing to cooler temperatures and reduced rainfall. To secure a visit during this period, advance booking several months ahead becomes imperative due to the escalated competition for available slots.
In essence, October to January provides favorable trekking conditions with dry trails and ripe fruit, albeit with potential challenges in locating the chimps.
