With the roads getting active as locals rush for work, vibrancy is the description for the cities of Entebbe and Kampala. Drive to Mabamba in the west of Entebbe, meet the site guide, and get aboard a canoe on which we will sail on the swamp to go looking for the shoebill stork. Mabamba offers the highest chances of spotting this prehistoric bird. After this adventure, we will have lunch, return to the hotel and relax. Meal plan: Full board
If it is a bright morning, we start the day with a lovely golden sunrise. Go for a day city tour around Kampala to learn more about Uganda while on ground. We will visit Kabaka’s Palace where we will enjoy beautiful views of the Kabaka Anjagala road which connects to the Buganda Parliament. More on our itinerary are Kasubi tombs, Gadaffi mosque which also offers breathtaking views of Kampala, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, and Bahai Temple. Optional sites to visit include; Namirembe Cathedral, Rubaga Cathedral, Uganda Museum, and an art and craft market. Dinner and overnight at the lodge Meal plan: Full board
As we prepare to leave Entebbe/Kampala, we will have breakfast and check out of the lodge. Drive eastwards, have our first stopover at Mabira forest for a forest walk, and proceed to Jinja. After having lunch, go for the afternoon boat cruise along the Nile. The great beauty and splendor of the River Nile take center here. In the evening, we drive to the hotel, have dinner, and rest.
Wake up to a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel and later check out to proceed to Kapchorwa. We shall arrive at our lodge in the afternoon and check in. Lunch at the lodge, we relax and head out for a hike in the evening. This Sipi Falls Hike is an experience devoid of words as it takes you to view the three waterfalls and also allows us to pause for a photo with one of the lovely picturesque falls in the background. Walk back to the lodge and relax. Meal plan: Full board
We should have breakfast at the lodge and head out for our last tour here – the coffee tour. It takes us beyond learning about how coffee is grown to tasting organically processed beverage. We shall participate in the activity of roasting the coffee seeds, to the stage of turning them into powder, ready for mixing in warm water, and enjoy it with the local family. Next, we set off for Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the booked lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Murchison Falls National Park is one of the best wildlife destinations in Uganda because of its large population of animals. We will have a morning game drive for wildlife viewing. Expect to see buffaloes, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeests, hippos, and lions. Leopards can also be spotted. Lunch at the lodge and an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile. It is a wonderful experience that offers more views of wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, and water birds but the highlight is the bottom of the Murchison Waterfalls, a spot where we will enjoy nature to the fullest. Before returning to the lodge, we will drive to the top of the falls and awesomely watch the spectacular site. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal plan: Full board
We check out of the lodge and set off for Kibale. A scenic drive with views of the Eastern Rift Valley escarpment and arrival at our lodge in the evening. Meal plan: Full board
Kibale is a place of great adventure as it gives wonders to primate lovers with easy-to-spot chimpanzees in their natural habitat. We shall go for the morning tracking which starts with briefing before we enter the forest. When we spot the chimps, we shall have an hour with them and return to the lodge. In the late afternoon, we will go for a walk through Bigodi wetland. This is a simply extraordinary way to get close to nature. This wetland walk aims to look out for interesting bird species, but it also gives chances to see more primates and other mammals. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight Meal plan: Full board
Begin your day with an early breakfast, We check out of the lodge and start the 6-7 hours drive back to Entebbe. We shall arrive in the afternoon and you will wait for your flight back home. End of safari
