12 Days Rwanda Uganda Safari : Some of Africa’s unspoiled safari destinations are Uganda and Rwanda and these boast three homes to the endangered mountain gorillas. On this 12 Day Rwanda Uganda safari, you will visit the two East African countries; Rwanda and Uganda, explore their prime national parks and make the best of memories when engaging in the different safari activities at the destinations.

If you are flying in to Rwanda on the first day of the safari, you will be picked up from the airport, and if you are already in the country, your private safari driver will pick you up from your hotel or apartment. Accommodation before the start of the safari can be arranged at an extra cost. On arrival at the airport, you will drive to Kigali city, have lunch at the hotel, briefly drive through the town to have a glimpse of its beauty and later proceed to Volcanoes National Park. You will arrive at your booked lodge in the evening, check in, have dinner and relax. Meal plan: Lunch and dinner
Wake up to an early morning breakfast at your lodge and later head to the park offices in Kinigi. That is where the activity starts with a briefing and you will thereafter enter the forest to search for the gorillas. Staying with these apes for an hour after spotting them is a great pleasure in the jungle. Later, return to the lodge and spend the evening relaxing. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Another Volcanoes morning offering luxury and great views. Have your morning breakfast at the lodge and drive to the park headquarters, meet your safari guide and go searching for golden monkeys in the forest. Tracking these primates requires some level of flexibility as they are fond of moving very fast from one place to another as they play and feed. After an hour with them, you will return to the lodge for lunch and later visit a nearby village to experience the Iby’Iwachu culture. You will interact with the locals, learn about their lifestyle and perhaps participate in their cultural dance for more fun. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnight Meal plan: Full board
You will have a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive northwards to Bwindi in southern Uganda. On arrival at your booked lodge, you will check in and relax. This safari was created to offer the best of the interests of nature and wildlife lovers. You will drive to the park offices of Bwindi and meet the ranger guide who is waiting to lead you through Bwindi Forest on the day’s activity. The nature walk from Nkuringo which is in the southern side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes you through the unspoiled locations of the forest to Buhoma in the northern side. From there, you will meet your safari driver and transfer to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge Meal plan: Full board
What better way to maximize your experience of exploring Rwanda and Uganda than including a game drive in Ishasha? The day will start with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a check out and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will do a short game drive in Ishasha for a chance to see tree-climbing lions. Proceed to the lodge, check in, and relax. Meal plan: Full board
Depending on where you will stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park, it can take 15-40 minutes to get to Kasenyi Plains by road, and that is where you will have a 4-hour game drive. Common animals that you might see include Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, and several bird species including birds of prey. Lions, leopards, and hyenas can be sighted too. You will have lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The 2-hour launch trip exposes countless hippos, large crocodiles, lots of water birds, and buffaloes among other animal species. Elephants can sometimes be spotted at the channel drinking water and cooling their bodies. Dinner and overnight at the lodge Meal plan: Full board
Wake up at your leisure, have breakfast and check out of the lodge. You have an option of having one more game drive in Kasenyi before driving to Kibale National Park. You will have an en-route lunch and go exploring the craters of Kibale and Fort Portal. The region has many craters and climbing to the hill tops in the area offers great views and an awesome adventure experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge Meal plan: Full board
Planned to go for morning chimp tracking, you will have an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park offices, attend the briefing, and enter the forest. As you search for chimpanzees, it is possible to encounter other resident primates like the L’Hoest’s monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and blue monkey among others. When you come across the chimps, you will have one hour with them and return to the lodge. Have lunch, relax and later head out for a nature walk around Bigodi wetland. Meal plan: Full board
Kibale mornings give a chilly atmosphere and thrilling views of the surroundings. You will wake up to this beauty and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. It is a scenic drive taking you through Hoima district. You will have an enroute lunch and arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon or evening depending on the departure time from Kibale. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Meal plan: Full board
Another early morning to go and look out for animals in the plains. For about 4 hours, you will drive around to watch wildlife with expectations of seeing giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants, Uganda kobs, hippos, and large numbers of buffaloes. Lions and leopards are also present in the park and can be sighted. Have lunch at the lodge and go for the boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The highlight of the trip is the magnificent waterfalls and this is featured with hippos and crocodiles. Back to the lodge for dinner and the overnight. Meal plan: Full board
The last day of your 12 Days Safari starts with a visit to the top of the falls just before exiting the park. You will spend some time to admire and delight in the beauty of the Nile as it bursts going through a narrow gorge creating beautiful and powerful waterfalls. From here, drive to Entebbe for your flight back home. End of safari
