Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park is about 7 hours’ drive. You can access it through Masaka-Mbarara or Mubende- Fort Portal route. Right after your breakfast at the hotel or place of residence in Kampala, you will meet your safari guide and set off for Queen Elizabeth national park. The first stopover will be at Kayabwe for the equator experience and the second in Mbarara for you to have lunch. You will proceed to the park, arrive in the evening and go straight to Kasenyi plains for a short game drive, later head to your booked lodge, check in, have dinner and rest.

Your game drive will begin early morning after breakfast at around 6:15-6:30 a.m. The drive will take you to Kasenyi plains, the best trail to spot lots of mammals such as African savannah elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, lions, leopards plus birds. You will explore upto 10:30 a.m. and return to the lodge for some relaxation and later settle for a leisurely lunch before you transfer to Kazinga Channel to board a boat ready to start your afternoon launch trip. The long day launch of 2-3 hours lets you see hippos, water birds, Nile crocodiles and other animals that visit the waterbody.
After breakfast, set off for yet another ultimate guided game drive in Ishasha to look out for tree climbing lions. On a lucky day, they will be spotted relaxing on tree branches. In addition, there are lots of other animal species you may sight, for example elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and birds. Then continue with the journey to Bwindi. You will arrive at the your booked accommodation in the evening and check in.
Wake up to an early morning breakfast, after which you will be transferring to the park offices of the region in which you are tracking the gorillas (Nkuringo, Rushaga, Ruhija & Buhoma). The 4 sector offices are ranger stations where briefing takes place and you are able to know gorilla trekking rules and also for park officials to allocate a gorilla family to you. The actual trekking to see mountain gorillas begins at 8:00am with experienced park guide leading you all through. Expect to spend 2-6 hours maneuvering through the forest in search for the gorilla family and on locating it, only 1 hour will be for you to take photos, learn more about their behaviors, observe their body gestures etc. You will summarize the evening with Batwa cultural walk to explore more about their lifestyle as the original forest dwellers who lived in these gorilla homes for more than 300 years. Return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
From Bwindi, you will set off in the morning for Kampala. The journey takes about 9-11 hours depending on your trekking region. En-route to Kampala, have lunch at a hotel in Mbarara then proceed to Kampala. You will arrive in town in the evening. End of Safari
