This is followed by a morning game drive before transferring to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking and finally to Nyungwe Forest for the spectacular chimpanzee experience accompanied by the canopy walk adventure.

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will lead you on a short city tour. You will visit the Genocide Memorial Center and look at the remains of people who succumbed to the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. You will also visit local markets and see how the locals run business. Go to a hotel/lodge of your choice for relaxation, dinner, and the overnight.
After a morning breakfast, connect with your driver and embark on a 3 -4 hour journey to Akagera National Park in the northeast of Kigali. The road trip is itself a fascinating experience since it comes with scenic views of the rolling hills, driving through green vegetation, trading centers, etc. On arrival, check in to the lodge of your choice have lunch, and go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. The launch trip will introduce you to the semi-aquatic animals here; hippopotamuses and crocodiles plus other mammals that visit the lake for a drink and body cooling. Return to your lodge in the later hours for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
After an early morning breakfast, go for a three to four-hour morning game drive that will take you to the deeper parts of the park. It is only in Akagera where you can get an opportunity to see all the Big Five animals in one place in Rwanda. Other animals that you may spot include giraffes, zebras, hippopotamuses, Uganda kob, cape bushbuck, topis, oribis, roan antelopes, duikers, impala, cape eland, etc. Return to the lodge for lunch before transferring to Volcanoes National Park. Check in to your booked lodge near Volcanoes National Park, have dinner, and spend a night.
After an early morning breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your lodge (dare not forget your lunch box ) and drive you to Kiningi headquarters for briefing. The warden will brief you about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking, assign you a specific gorilla family, and group you into 8 members per group as well as give you a ranger guide. You are now ready to go. Trekking can take between 2 and 8 eight hours but it is worth the time. In addition, you may meet other animals, primates, birds, and plant species during the trek. Upon encountering a family of gorillas, you are given up to a full hour to spend in their presence as you watch them do life and take as many pictures as you wish as long as you are not using a flashlight camera. Return to your lodge for relaxation and a lip-smirking lunch. You will spend the rest of the day enjoying the breeze of the park and can opt for a nature walk around the lodge as you see quite several bird species before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Your Day 5 is a brand new day of the safari in the same national park. It is meant for another trek to see unique primate species – golden monkeys. The activity is much like gorilla trekking since it starts with a morning breakfast, briefing at the park headquarters, and then trekking. You will return to the lodge for lunch and check out. Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, check in to your booked lodge, have dinner, and stay for the night.
After a morning breakfast, meet your driver and go to the park headquarters for a briefing about your morning activity. You will walk in the jungles of Nyungwe forest as you enjoy the singing of different species of birds. Meeting chimpanzees depends on how fast you walk and where they spent their previous night – which is made easy by our professional guides who usually predict their location easily. You will be given a full hour after meeting them as you take pictures as well as watch them play, dine, and mate. They give spectacular experiences as they portray their climbing skills. Meet your driver and go to your hotel for lunch. Later on, you will head out for a canopy walk over Nyungwe forest. It is an opportunity for you to enjoy an aerial view of the forest using the bridge that is 70 meters above the ground. It is a also reliable bird-viewing opportunity. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After a morning breakfast, meet your driver for a drive back to Kigali city. You can opt for a stopover at any craft shop and grab something for memories of the safari. Continue to Kigali International Airport for departure.
